Day 1: Rapunzel
Today I tried to embody Rapunzel.
I let my hair flow...
...and wore lavender and pink slippers in honor of her colors. I even did my make-up in in an attempt to embody her (while I didn't have green eyes, I did have green eyeliner).
Today I tried to find things to wonder at and I can not say it went as successfully as I hoped. One of the things I love about Rapunzel is that she finds everything wondrous and new.
I honestly had trouble with this today. It was hard to go through a normal school day and find things to marvel at, though what I did manage to be astounded by is this:
1. How badly people want to get into honors drama. While I remember wanting to get in badly I do not recall feeling as though I was depending on it. I was truly amazed today at how some of the underclassmen were talking about getting into the honors class, as though their high school existence depended on it.
2. How predictable 90210 is.
3. The fact that hideous dresses one finds at goodwill over the weekend actually gets bought within a few days.
4. The fact that my last performance with Hoggard Theatre EVER is in just 6 days.
5. How much Judy Blume must have paid to get on all of the Book Con tickets.
6. How well toothpicks work in place of small brushes when doing detailed paintings.
I have also decided to add one more small thing onto my project, I want to participate in at least one of the Princess's hobbies on their day. Today I painted, although not as nearly as good as Rapunzel, I did okay.
Tomorrow I take on the challenge of being Tiana. I will strive to be both as hard-working and ambitious as she is.
