Pre-Week of Living like a Disney Princess

Almost every girl wants to grow up and be a Disney princess. What young girl doesn't want to wear gorgeous gowns and dance the night away with their prince? I, personally, always wished to be Aurora.

Although my favorite princess has changed (I now favor Meg), the dream of being one has not. Recently I have noticed the princesses are becoming increasingly criticized. Some of this criticism includes fake movie posters saying what the real titles should be.

While I have been amused by these posters, I have also been thinking about the princess in terms of their values. They are known for their beauty and poise but their character is a major aspect of each film. So why do we not talk about that more? Why criticize the fact that Ariel left the sea to be with Eric than praise her curiosity?

This week I have decided to live each day as a Disney princess through both their values and characteristics, and in style. I will focus on one or two core values from the Disney princess and try to demonstrate it myself and note it in others. I plan on writing down every time I see someone demonstrating one of the values in a notebook. As far as style goes, because I do not live in Disney World, I will be modifying my outfit each day to fit at least the color scheme of the princess. I am making it my goal to appear as classy and princess like as possible.

My only exception to being a Disney princess is when I have a performance this weekend and in rehearsal when I have to be other characters.

I am extremely excited to begin this process and can't wait to get started!
